Please do.

I took a picture of that sign on the stairway to the top of London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral. Then two steps later, I hit my head. That made the whole thing funnier to me.
In what, I believe, most would agree are unfunny times, I feel extra-lucky that my work is making myself and other people (mentally, if not physically) smile.
I read this by Gary Shteyngart*, “What is happening is as serious as a guillotine. We must harness our best creative selves, humorous and frivolous selves in order to keep from falling.”
That’s a lot, but it’s not all. On top of the day to day, I must do a bit more to try to mend the world, or else I’ll fall (mentally, if not physically) and I won’t be able to do my work. Helping helps. (You can quote me on that.)
Please mind your head, too.
Think and work like a cartoonist at this summer’s Cartoonapalooza weeklong workshop in August on Cape Cod. It’s my favorite teaching gig. All levels, seriously. More info/registration here.
*I didn’t know who bestselling author Gary Shteyngart was when I read this, but now I’m partway through his memoir Little Failure.
